Frequently Asked Question

08. Why did UPMOVE send an email asking for clarification on my trades?"
Last Updated 8 months ago

As a financial intermediary, a stock broker is responsible for maintaining effective surveillance mechanisms as mandated by the market regulator SEBI, the stock exchanges (PDF) , and the depositories (PDF) . As part of these surveillance processes, brokers must review client transactions, flag suspicious trades, and request clarifications along with the rationale for these trades to verify their authenticity.

In addition to alerts generated by the broker's system, stock exchanges also independently flag certain transactions. When this occurs, brokers are required to request explanations from clients and report the actions taken to the exchanges.

If you have received an email regarding such an alert, it pertains to a transaction flagged either by the stock exchange system or the internal surveillance system mandated by the regulator. Please provide the necessary details by creating a support ticket. Once UPMOVE receives the required information, an acknowledgment email will be sent to you, and further action will be taken if needed.
