Frequently Asked Question
01. What is Power of Attorney (POA)?
Last Updated 8 months ago
A POA (Power of Attorney) is a document that authorizes a broker to debit shares from a demat account and deliver them to the exchange. Upmove no longer requires clients to submit a POA, as it was replaced by the Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI) starting from November 19, 2022. Clients who have already submitted a POA will not be affected by this change.
Submitting a DDPI is optional. Clients can also use the CDSL TPIN to authorize the debit of securities.
