03. Why did Upmove send an email stating that multiple accounts have been created using the same mobile number or email ID?

According to the SEBI circular (WEB), stock brokers are required to upload unique mobile numbers and email addresses for each client. Clients can only update their Upmove account with unique mobile numbers and email IDs.

If an existing client uses the same contact details for a family member's account, they must submit a declaration and ID proof, either online or offline. Family members include spouses, dependent children, and dependent parents. Accepted ID proofs include a birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport, masked Aadhaar, or PAN.

If the same contact details are used for a non-individual account (such as an HUF, corporate, partnership, etc.), the client must submit a declaration offline. Additionally, each non-individual account must have a unique mobile number and email ID if multiple accounts exist.
